Red black and green Environmental justice coalition

The Red Black and Green Environmental Justice Coalition came together in the Fall of 2019 to offer an informed voice on environmental justice -- especially where that voice is needed to inform public policy appropriately.

Black artists Fund 

The Black Artists Fund was founded by Sacramento black creatives to address inequity in arts funding. Through micro and small grant-giving we are attempting to close the gap that black artists face in beginning and sustaining their art careers.

City Traffic

Active transportation commission

The Active Transportation Commission was formed by ordinance and was established for the purpose of providing advice on strategies related to walking and bicycling in the city.

John Muir Institute of the environment

The John Muir Institute's mission is to "discover, research, and solve pressing environmental and human health challenges."

HEALTH IMPACTS & CREATIVE SUSTAINABILITY IN RACIAL JUSTICE MOVEMENTS

In January of 2024, Veritable Good organized a study of the mental and physical health impacts of working in the racial justice movement, interviewing advocates throughout California. Volition Gardens carries this work forward with the goal of operationalizing the solutions to advocate burnout identified in this report.
