Creative Planning Ecosystem
With more than a decade of experience working with both community residents and the local governments responsible for their development, the folks behind Volition Gardens have developed a 3-prong approach towards advancing inclusive urban planning. We aim to increase representation in state, regional, and local agencies, by taking advantage of job opportunities created by sunsetting positions in the field.

GRANT WRITING
WORKSHOP SERIES
Our Grant Writing Cohort Workshop Series is a project designed to provide career path opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing grant writing to support local nonprofits in Sacramento. We are collaborating with seasoned grant writers to provide eight weeks of resources and knowledge to give participants the opportunity to learn more about the ins, outs, current trends, and available compensation for people who pursue grant writing.

HEALTH IMPACTS & CREATIVE SUSTAINABILITY IN RACIAL JUSTICE MOVEMENTS

Volition Gardens carries this work forward with the goal of operationalizing the solutions to advocate burnout identified in this report.

OUTDOOR PROGRAM FOR UNDERSERVED YOUTH
This program will get more underserved and marginalized youth out into nature as a part of overnight treks into the wilderness. We aim to provide mental health support and intervention for youth who do not typically have access to the resources available through state and national parks across the nation.

PODCAST
In this podcast series, we will bring together a cross section of the community to discuss practices that restore joy and well-being in racial justice work. Through the intimacy and whimsy of phone calls, we hope to learn about the creative ways that cultureworkers nurture themselves and bring playfulness into their movements.
